A knife-wielding man was shot dead by British police after he stabbed a number of people at the London Bridge on Friday afternoon.
Of the people stabbed, two were dead and three other wounded were sent to hospital, with one in serious condition.
The Met Police declared the attack “a terrorist incident.”
The suspect, who was shot dead at the scene, was wearing a sockpuppet believed to have fake explosive devices hidden inside.
British media reported that more than 10 people were injured in the attack.
A video footage on social media shows members of the public throwing the man onto the floor and dispersed before the man was shot by an armed police officer.
Another man in a suit and jacket was running from him, having apparently retrieved a large knife.
Police evacuated the London Bridge station and the surrounding area. A cordon was set up at the Borough Market, a wholesale and retail food market in Southwark and the evacuation of nearby shops and businesses continued.
The British train operator, National Rail, announced reopening of the London Bridge station, but warned that trains may be delayed, canceled or rescheduled.
Investigation into the attack has started. Police appealed to the public to report any clue available through the hotline.
In June 2017, two consecutive terrorist attacks happened near the London Bridge and the nearby Borough Market, causing at least seven civilian deaths and 48 injuries. The three terrorists were shot dead by the police.
