DUBLIN – Mastercard’s Dublin unit plans to add 1,500 more staff over the next 3 to 5 years, almost trebling its current workforce.
Mastercard has had its Dublin office, set up in 2008 and four years later, came up with a research and development arm, Mastercard Labs.
Its current 650 strong workforces shall increase to 2,000 now.
Salesforce.com matched this number with the 1,500 jobs it said it would add over a year ago in Ireland.
In Ireland and its fast-growing economy, foreign multinationals employ a quarter of a million people.
“This is excellent news and further proof of Ireland’s place as a global hub for technology. The 1,500 jobs being created at Mastercard are high quality, skilled positions.”
– Leo Varadkar, Acting Prime Minister, Ireland
Mastercard is increasing its investment in technology and is looking to hire staff in the areas of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain and user experience.
An expansion of 22,500 square metres in the form of two new office blocks shall be added its current south Dublin location.
